British-Airways-Data-Breach

British Airways (‘BA’) announced on 7th September 2018 that their security systems had been breached over a 15-day period by hackers whereby around 500,000 of their customer card payment details and personal data had been stolen.

If you have been affected by this data breach, you could be entitled to up to £5,000.

To our knowledge, BA have only emailed customers who were affected by the data breach

If you have received an email regarding the breach, it is likely you have been affected.

We would advise any BA customers to search that title or the following keywords in your email inbox, junk/spam mailbox and your deleted items to see whether you have received an email from BA;

Have BA Admitted Liability?

BA have offered to reimburse customers who have suffered financial loss as a result of the breach. They have so far failed to admit liability for this breach. 

The Information Commissioner’s Office (‘ICO’) who are responsible for upholding the UK’s information rights in the public interest, have announced their intention to fine BA £183.39 million for breaches of GDPR following this incident.
